February 16th, 2011 - Very excited to announce an upcoming gig at Dr. Ug's Drugstore
Cafe in Virgina, Illinois, April 7th, at 7:00pm - don't miss it! It's a wonderful cafe, and I
can't wait to perform there! Speaking of gigs, I'm currently in the planning stages of a
cafe/winery tour this summer and fall! If you've got a favorite cafe or winery in your
area that you think I'd be a good fit for - let me know about it! And if you're feeling
really brave, suggest me to the management there! I'll love you forever. =] Thanks,
guys! Stay tuned for new music!
September 1st, 2010 - After a wonderfully busy summer of working for the National
Park Service (I was a Lincoln Troubadour at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site)
and doing a production of Grease (I was Teen Angel), I am back working on my own
projects! Hooray! I have finally uploaded some performance videos to YouTube! You
can access my channel by clicking here! Please comment and subscribe! I'm still
working on another studio album, and I'm hoping doing these videos will motivate me
to finish it!
June 12th, 2010 - I am very excited to announce that tomorrow I start a new job where
I'll be singing and performing every day! Damien Kaplan has put together a
wonderful group of singers called The Lincoln Troubadours, and there are two
different troupes of us. I will be leading the second troup. We are employed by the
National Park Service to sing at the Lincoln Sites around Springfield, IL. So cool! We
sing songs of the Lincoln Era and present a program about the history of them! For a
complete schedule of our performances, visit our facebook page by clicking here!
Hope to see you there! PS - All our shows are free! =]
May 17th, 2010 - It's hard for me to believe, but yesterday I graduated from college
with a Bachelor of Arts from Illinois College - magna cum laude! Woohoo! I had a
blast at IC and am very thankful for all of the great opportunities the school afforded
me. I'll miss it, but am excited to be on to the next thing!
March 12th, 2010 - Today is a very good day! I am "this" close to finishing up a track
from the new album and I can't wait to share it with you guys. Expect it online very
soon. I started a new Facebook page for my music (Search, "Luke McQuillan" and
become a fan!) and I have also done little things here and there to this site. But, most
importantly tonight is the opening night of a wonderful musical in Springfield, IL that
I'm in called, Parade! It's a Tony award-winning show about the real life case of Leo
Frank and it really packs a wallop. Don't miss it. Call 217-523-ARTS for tickets, or visit

January 1st, 2010 - Happy New Year! I have a feeling 2010 is going to be a great year! I
am hard at work on new music (both writing and recording) and I promise the new
album will be out this year! I am so excited I cannot wait. From doing some research
and experimenting at home, I am really learning how to get a very professional sound
out of my "home studio." It's amazing what a little trial and error will yield, if you just
take your time. I cannot wait to post new music here and give out details on the album
title, release date, etc. I have to finish up college (I graduate from IC in May with a
Bachelor of Arts!) so it may be late summer, but I promise it is coming.
November 14th, 2009 - Luke has many exciting projects coming up! As part of his
Directing class at IC, Luke wrote a one-act musical, which he just cast with a group of
extremely talented IC students. It will be performed December 13th and 14th at the
ICEBOX theatre in the Kirby Learning Center at 7:30pm, both nights. Luke is also
currently hoping to organize some holiday concerts. If you want Luke to perform at
your Christmas service/party/holiday event, please click on the "Tour" page. More
news and maybe even some new music will be posted soon!
October 14th, 2009 - Tomorrow, October 15th, begins Luke's 4th annual original
Haunted House musical. This year's musical, called Winston and the Witches tells the
tale of a group of unsuspecting people (the audience!) getting caught up with two
witches and their lackey. It's a fun-filled evening of songs, special effects, and more!
The Journal-Courier featured a great article on the event. Click here to read it! The
musical is being presented by the Imagine Arts Foundation and serves as a
fund-raiser for that organization. Call 473-2726 for info and click on "Tour" for dates
and times!
September 21st, 2009 - Luke is pleased to announce two gigs coming up this weekend -
both on the same day, Sunday the 27th! First off at 9am Luke will be returning to the
first church he ever performed at, at just 10 years old, Grace United Methodist in
Jacksonville! Luke will be providing the special music and offertory music at the
Church's 9am worship service. After that it's onto the Woodlawn Farm Fall Festival at
3pm! Luke will be doing a half-hour set of original songs and old favorites! Visit
www.woodlawnfarm.com for more info or click on "Tour" in the menu!
August 31st, 2009 - As Luke begins his senior year of college at Illinois College, he is
also preparing for two very cool gigs. Luke is honored to be kicking off the Prairieland
Chautauqua on September 4th at 4:00pm in Jacksonville's Community Park. He will be
playing an hour of original songs and old favorites. Don't miss it! Click here for more
info on the Chautauqua! After that, Luke will be a part of the opening gala for IC
TheatreWork's new venue, The ICEBOX, on the same night at 7:30pm. He will be
acting in a scene as well as singing a song with Nancy Taylor Porter and Kindra
Steenerson. Click "Tour" for more info!
June 9th, 2009 - Well, as you can see major changes have taken place at
LukeMcQuillan.com and expect to see even more as the summer progresses. Luke is
in the midst of recording his second album of original material and plans to have clips
posted very soon. In addition to this, Luke has begun a new YouTube channel as a
venue to perform both his original songs and covers. Visit
www.youtube.com/lukemcquillan to check it out and don't forget to subscribe to his
videos! Other things to look forward to include a fundraising/advance listening party
to help raise funds for Luke's new CD as well as the actual CD release party and
concert. Check back soon for more info on both of these exciting events!
April, 14th, 2009 - Don't miss Luke in what he describes as one of his "dream roles of
musical-theatre" playing Archibald Craven in Illinois College TheatreWork's
production of The Secret Garden directed by Nancy Taylor Porter. It's been an
amazing experience for Luke and he can't wait to share it with everyone. Show dates
are April 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, and 25th at 7:30pm and April 26th at 2:00pm at The
Sibert Theatre in the McGaw Fine Arts Building (Corner of College Avenue and
Lockwood). Please visit www.ic.edu/theatre for more info or to reserve tickets!
